As I mentioned earlier this week, I am so excited Downton Abbey is back (and so sad it's ending!) Here is a cocktail to enjoy on Sunday evenings while you fall in love with Tom Branson, feel bad for poor Edith, check your e-mail and Instagram when Bates and Anna appear (yawn) and laugh at the Dowager Countess's quick-witted, stinging one-liners. It's the perfect concoction to slowly sip with one pinky up, of course, whilst pretending you are in the company of Lady Mary. Not only is it fun and thematic, but it's one of my favorite tasting cocktails that we've made so far, combining two loves of mine, tea and St. Germain. And as an extra bonus, it's perfect for this time of year when everyone is battling a cold. (I'm personally battling a never-ending sinus infection). Serve the cocktail in fancy tea cups along side of tea sandwiches if you are feeling more "upstairs," or in a plain ol' mug with a biscuit if you are feeling more "downstairs."
Adapted from Oh So Beautiful Paper - we skipped out on the hard to find lemon syrup and used simple syrup and a squeeze of lemon instead. I am sure honey and lemon would be a stellar combo as well - I plan on trying that this Sunday.
