Did I mention it was my birthday this Saturday yet?! As I said before, I am not above throwing myself my own birthday party, so I'm certainly not against making myself a birthday banner! Here is a simple and fun way to add a festive banner to a birthday celebration, even your own!
Almost no effort or crafting ability is needed for this banner, my favorite kind of D.I.Y! There is no cutting, hole punching, stringing or calligraphy involved- the only real effort put into this craft was blowing up the balloons. Jamie and I felt a little dizzy trying to blow up the water balloons and considered making it a "Happy B-DAY" banner instead. However, we perservered through the last 4 balloons, and I'm so glad we did, because it came out great! Balloons aside, the craft was quick and easy - the way birthday decor should be. Less crafting, more champagne.
Balloon Birthday Banner
- String or twine to hang the banner
- Small balloons - I used these neon water balloons, although they took some serious air power. Tip: really stretch the balloons well before attempting to blow them up! Next time I will invest in a handheld balloon pump. I want to give these pretty mini balloons a try.
- Mini clothespins.
- Gold Glitter Alphabet Stickers.
Blow up and tie the mini balloons. Plan out your color pattern and attach the stickers to the center of each balloon to spell out your message. Remember to attach the stickers with the knot of the balloon facing the ceiling. Hang your string up on the wall, then clip on each balloon by their knot. Ta-da- You're done! Put on your party hat and start celebrating!
I can tell I have passed down the birthday gene to my daughter who was just as psyched to don a party hat and celebrate with me.
