I don't know about you, but I have tons of good intentions with re-usable tote bags, but almost everyday I find myself in a store, cursing the unused pile of tote bags that I always forget to take. I have a million adorable tote bags, though I just can't remember to grab one before I leave, but when I do I feel like a million bucks. I proudly smile, sashaying down the grocery aisles smugly shouting "I have my own bag!!!" a little too loudly at the register. So this tote, by Emily McDowell, made me laugh. I'm hoping that when I buy this bag, everyone at the store will celebrate with me. I'm picturing high fives from the free sample guy, nods of approval from the stock boys, and looks of jealousy from the other customers who like old me, forgot their bag at home. As Emily says, this tote helps you "commemorate this small (or large) personal triumph of remembering your reusable bag."
And if I still forget my bag, maybe instead of triumph I will feel so defeated and guilty when I see this bag dangling on the coat rack that I'll never forget it again.
This bag also cracked me up. It's like she knows me.
