I am one of the lucky New Yorkers that has an outdoor space, but each year I make big plans on making it my sanctuary and each year I fall short and end up with an odd palm tree plant that dies mid-season. This year, since we will spending a lot more time at home, I'm going to try to get a few things to make our rooftop the oasis I always dream of. However, I am finding that I have less and less time to water my plants, so maybe I should replace the garden of my dreams with some succulents and cacti!
Here are a few things I am currently coveting that would help transform any outdoor space into a relaxing spot for spring and summer fun.
While browsing around Terrain I stumbled upon this insect repellent perfume. Have you ever heard of something like that? I'm curious to see if it keeps the bugs away and if it actually smells good! I might have to test it out this summer, and my rooftop is the perfect, buggy place to try it!
Here are some dreamy outside spaces that we found on pinterest to inspire you to create your own backyard/rooftop/porch/fire-escape oasis:
You can find all these pins on our outside oasis pinterest board.
One of my favorite nights on our rooftop was the night we hung up an old sheet and borrowed a projector to create our own outdoor cinema. It was a rare moment when life actually felt like something out of a pinterest board. We all ate popcorn and drank wine while watching Three Amigos. It was a perfect late-summer evening that we should recreate every year!
Now I really should go water my plants....
