Okay, I admit, today's cocktail is ill-named for imbibing on a lovely spring day. We're hopefully past the point of any icy storms! But this cocktail is springy with lime juice and sparkling with ginger beer, which both brighten up the bourbon in a way that's perfect for sipping on a warm(ish) evening. Evidently nor'easter storms are created by converging air masses - the cold, polar air mass crashing with a warmer oceanic air mass coming off the Gulf Stream. It sort of reminds me of this time of year - still reeling from the nasty winter that the northeast just experienced, we're converging onto warmer days...often wearing flats or skirts on days that are still too cold for them, we awkwardly fumble on towards spring. Let's bring our pasty-white skin out from under the layers and toast the spring weekend with this bourbon cocktail!
