As I attempted once before, in a Pinterest-inspired wanderlust post, I've again gathered a handful of destinations that popped out at me as I poked around Pinterest, itching for a place to go to escape the sludge that is the end of Winter in NYC. This time, I limited the destinations to the continental US. But even with the limitation of sticking to one country (and ignoring Hawaii and Alaska all together), it's a ridiculous task to try to complete, because there are so many places to see and only so many spaces for links. Nevertheless, here are a few USA destinations I'd love to check out!:
row 1: Enjoying farm-to-table cuisine in an elegant farm setting at Blackberry Farm, in the Smokey Mountains of Tennessee / Swimming with manatees at Blue Springs State Park, in Florida / Enjoying the low-key beach life of the Outer Banks at the Sanderling Resort, in Duck, NC
row 2: Catching the Annual International Balloon Fiesta in Albequerque, NM (while staying at this historic inn and organic farm) / Horseback riding and feasting on "Western elegant" cuisine at the luxe A Bar A Dude Ranch in Encampment, WY / Whale watching in Oregon (with this oceanfront place to stay)
row 3: Collecting all the seaglass I can carry at Glass Beach, near Fort Bragg, CA / Relaxing in style at the Korakia Pensione in Palm Springs / Taking a wagon-ful of kids for ice cream and dipping in the ocean in Fair Harbor, Fire Island, NY
All of these links take you to Pinterest pins, which in turn link to travel guides or hotel websites that will help you start planning your next adventure. Get out there!
Happy travels (or daydreams, as the case may be)...
