Have you made any New Year's resolutions? Mine is to look at my phone less. How's that working out? Well, last night (conclusion of day one), I left my phone in the living room while I slept (hurray!), but then proceeded to get up at 5 am to bring it back into the bedroom - pregnancy insomnia is not helping my cause! Good thing I have a whole year to work on my addiction, so I'm still feeling hopeful! Normally, my resolutions have something to do with drinking less or eating more greens, but it's no fun to cut out drinking completely (take it from the pregnant woman!) so we thought this month we'd mix up some cocktails that mix together healthy ingredients and a healthy dose of fun. This way, you can enjoy your cocktails somewhat guilt-free or at least until February, when everyone forgets about their resolutions anyway!
This one is a simple way to get your healthy and nutritious greens as well a "healthy" buzz. Just add a shot of vodka to any green juice (we used Supa Dupa Green Juice from Juice Generation), and garnish it with a cucumber. It tasted so fresh and delicious, it made us wonder why we haven't started every January this way. It has a Bloody Mary feel to it, so adding some horseradish could give it a welcomed extra kick.
I can't wait to have one in April while I am trying to squeeze back into pre-maternity clothes, yet still would like to treat myself to a cocktail!
