First off, I am by no means a germaphobe - I don't mind germs and I think they are good for you in the long-run and believe we are all doing ourselves a disservice by bleaching everything in sight and using hand sanitizer every 5 seconds. BUT, it's winter in NYC and that means you are inevitably sharing a pole on the subway with someone who doesn't know how to cover their mouth with their elbow, not their hands (chicken wing, people!) and thus sharing the fun viruses of all 5 boroughs. During cold and flu season, I do feel the need to wash my hands immediately when I get off the subway, but I hate all the drug store brand hand sanitizers that dry out my skin and smell terrible, so this year I was on the hunt for an upgrade!
I finally found a hand sanitizer that kills germs and keeps my hands moisturized and smelling good in Aesop's Resurrection Rinse-Free Hand Wash. It's perfect for getting me through the winter months without smelling like a chemical plant. It's super gentle on my skin since it contains moisturizing agents and smells great with mandarin rind, rosemary leaf, cedarwood and lavender scents. It fits in a small purse and lasts a whole season or more. It's a luxurious upgrade from those drug store brands, yet still affordable at $10. It's a must for anyone traveling via public transport this season, plus the bottle is so pretty and it smells so pleasant that you'll find excuses to reapply it throughout the day! And really, during the winter months we need to treat ourselves to small upgrades to survive the long, cold and grey days.

Here's to a flu free winter!
