September is our favorite month. Marisa's birthday is in September (happy birthmonth, MM!), and we both had our weddings this month. It is a month that perfectly hovers between Summer and Fall, with the lingering sunny weather and warmer ocean of the former, but calmer schedule and cooler evenings of the latter. Now that we don't have to go back to school (sorry, kids), we can extend that vacation feeling long after Labor Day. Best of all, now is the time to kick off campfire season! There's nothing better than the gentle cracks, the glowing warmth, and the smoky smell of a fire. But if you're less than expert in the boy-scout-skills department - or if, let's say, you live in the middle of the city - a blaring bonfire, or even a modest campfire, might seem out of the picture.
