I read an article today about fall fashion and I became irate. Let us have our August people! Stop rushing us into pumpkin lattes, which show up on coffee window displays earlier and earlier each year. Yes, fall is amazing, yes scarves are really fun, but no - it's mid-August, we are not ready for your Ella Fitzgerald and toasty cocktails yet. Let us enjoy our margaritas in peace!
Okay, rant over. But seriously, let's enjoy these last weeks of summer by indulging ourselves in a few of our favorite things - tequila and ice cream! This recipe came to us via Martha Stewart, a woman who probably appreciates August and lets it just be August. It's the perfect way to satiate your frozen margarita cravings without having to clean out your blender. Viva La Summer!
First, scoop lemon sorbet into chilled coupe glasses. (I bet lime sorbet would taste excellent as well.)
Next, pour ½ to ¾ oz of chilled tequila over the sorbet. Garnish it with zest of a fresh lime and sprinkle with Maldon sea salt (or whatever you have on hand).
If you plan on eating them right away, use a wooden spoon until the sorbet melts into the tequila or else it will just be a tequila shot. After it all mixes together you can gingerly sip it or if you are really feeling wild, gulp it down!
