When I was honeymooning in Japan, my husband and I could not stop noticing how all the women in Tokyo had perfect skin. When I got home the first thing I did, after a 10 hour nap, was google Japanese beauty secrets. I found Natural Aqua Gel Cure and I have been obsessed ever since. I totally get why it's the number one best-selling skincare product in Japan. It exfoliates your skin without any harsh chemicals or those abrasive gel beads that ruin the environment. It's also scent-free and hypoallergenic so it's great for sensitive skin, like mine. And since it's 90 percent water it doesn't dry out your skin either.
Although it's a little pricey, you only use it twice a week so the bottle lasts a while. All you do is pump it on your hands, apply to your clean, dry face and gently rub it into your skin (it doesn't work as well if your skin is damp.) The best part is that you can actually SEE it working. It's gross, but tiny balls of dead skin come off as you gently scrub, which leaves your skin glowing and smooth. It's weirdly satisfying. In fact, every time someone comes to our apartment I force them in the bathroom just to show them - I'm a really fun hostess.
If you can't make it to my apartment, you can get it from Japan on Amazon here.
