Fall is my favorite season, mostly because in the sweet spot of autumn there is the best weather. It's cool, but not too cold and has a crisp breeze that just feels more earthy, even in this big city. It's also the best weather to explore NYC - the high tourist season is over, it's perfect walking weather, you only have to wear a light jacket and the subways don't feel oppressively hot and sticky. Plus Central Park looks magical, like out of a scene from When Harry Met Sally. (By the way, Sally is killing it in the picture below - don't even get me started on fall fashion!)
Another great thing about fall is that even when it's rainy and gloomy outside there is still so much to do. During the summer, whenever I stayed inside all day listening to records and cooking, I felt guilty that I wasn't enjoying the season. However, fall just begs you to put on an over-sized sweater and sip on a cocktail while slowly simmering a soup - guilt free!
Here is a list of 50 things to see, taste, do and try this fall season - 40 of our favorites plus 10 spots for you to fill in yourself. Whether you're out enjoying the beautiful autumnal weather or cozied up inside, you'll never run out of fun things to do.
