How was your weekend? While Jamie was frolicking at a lake in North Carolina, I was busy doing an overhaul of my apartment a.k.a. making a huge mess. The plan was to purge clothes my husband and I no longer wear and random stuff we've collected over the years and to reorganize the layout, but I always have bigger plans than a weekend can hold, so our apartment just looks like a disaster. Hopefully next weekend we'll get our act together!
In other apartment envy news- I've been swooning over the outside of Michelle Williams's ivy covered townhouse down the block from me for years, but now after seeing the inside I'm officially obsessed. Anyone have an extra 7.5 mil laying around for me? (via Lonny.com)
I saw Aziz Ansari at Madison Square Garden on Thursday and he was hilarious. He talked a little about feminism and how female comics have to deal with so much more harassment on twitter. Female creatives have to deal with so much more than simply harassment from idiots on social media. This article is a solid look into the differences between the announcement of Aziz and Lena Dunham's book deals, both of which garnered over 3.5 million in advances. Can you guess which one of the two had to deal with the question, "Does ____ really deserve [this} book deal?" (via Cup of Jo)
How pretty are these rose colored wine glasses with gold rims from Anthropolgie. Yes, please.
Sweden is making steps to a more gender neutral society, including using a new gender neutral pronoun "hen." Do you think something similar will catch on here?
Speaking of gender shtuff (that's the technical term for this subject), Mckenna, a basketball fan, points out something clearly missing from Dick's Sporting Goods basketball catalog with this awesome letter.
White truffle season is upon us (and after great year for white truffles in Italy) you can dine on them for under $50 at these nine restaurants in NYC. I'm hungry just typing this. Note to self - must organize dinner with Jamie and her dad, a truffle connoisseur.
Tipping always stresses me out so I think I would enjoy this no tip restaurant. Don't worry the servers aren't losing out on this deal!
I finally watched the Twin Peaks pilot this weekend (probably when I should have been cleaning). I've always wanted to check it out, but this ranking of 118 sweaters on the show and the announcement of a revival made me want to start the series immediately!
Haven't gotten a chance to go out and see any fall foliage yet? Here is an interactive map of the US that shows the current state of foliage from "No Change", to "Patchy" to "Past Peak". NYC, we are "Near Peak" on the 25th - head out to Central Park soon! (via Say Yes)
Have a great, cozy autumnal week!
